I, Michael
Sanborn, sprang, fully formed, from the head of Zeus in the Winter of
1969. What the king of the Greek Gods of antiquity was doing in Worchestor,
Massachussets is, to this day, the subject of much conjecture. Who really
knows what drives Zeus, anyway?
In my formative
years, I poured myself into my two greatest passions, the visual arts
and the written word. Seldom could I be found without a pencil and paper.
Following the advice of well-meaning, though completely misinformed
relatives, I pursued other interests until well after grade school.
Finally, I succumbed to my conscience and embarked on my artistic career,
starting with my acceptance to the Ringling School of Art and Design.
While at Ringling, I submerged myself in my and everyone else's art.
When I left, I took away several honors, including Outstanding Sophomore
and Junior Animator award as well as being named the Trustee Scholar
for my Senior year.
I spent the
next several years working for a variety of outstanding companies honing
my animation and illustration craft. All the while I continued to write
children's books, short stories, film treatments, and screenplays, between
freelance illustration, animation, and graphic design work.
Currently
I live and work in sunny Orlando with my wife and our two, enormously
entertaining dogs, Petie and Sally. I hope you enjoy some of the work
you see here, possibly even to the extent of offering me some lucrative
multi book deal. I'm pretty sure it is what Zeus would want you to do.
