"The Solvers and the Mystery of the Swamp Creature - number 2" from my Solvers series. This series of images were done as an assignment for a SCBWI workshop I attended. The assignment was to create 3 or 4 spreads with animals or children in a variety of situations and moods. It was a test to see how consistent you can keep the look of your characters when presented with a variety of environments and lighting situations. I didn't really have a story to go along with this one (first time for everything) but thought it might be neat to do a swamp based mystery with kid detectives. In this image, the kids have arrived at the abandoned swamp shack and found some wet footprints, probably from the swamp creature! Spooky!
