This image depicts Circee's home in the Gurgle Gully. Before I decided on a direction to go with the full color illustrations, I did several tests to see which felt the best for the project. The left image is in the style I finally chose. On the right are a cleaned line drawing, a pencil rendering, a hatched ink illustration and a design marker illustration.
