These illustrations are of Circee in her race against Slurgar. In the left most illustration, Circee has, with a little help, found her way through the Gloomgully Caves and is speeding for the Burglegulp Spout. In the right most illustration, Slurgar is helping to untangle Circee's foot from some of the river weeds in the Slipcurl River.
