These are some of the earliest concept illustrations from Monster Island. At the time I was aiming at an even younger audience and had the monsters all wearing t-shirts with fanged smiley faces on them. The left illustration is of Biter looking through the trees and bushes. The right illustration is of Duly taking a ride in an old mine ore cart.
