These characters are Hookil (on the left) and Slurgar (on the right). Hookil is the most book smart of all the monsters, constantly having his nose buried in one of his dusty old tomes. Slurgar is the newest arrival to the Monster Island group, having mysteriously appeared in the first book, "Circee and the Big Swim". He is a slightly better swimmer than Circee, has the ability to speak with several animals, and, as yet, only knows a little of the monster's language.
