R-713, the newest member of the group, was created by the government for use in deep sea rescue operations. After his creation, the robot was retrofit with alien technology and developed sentience (partially thanks to Magnet Lad in the first episode) and the ability to create an ever-changing assortment of devices from it's body. R-713 is beginning to develop a personality and emotions, which he doesn't know how to deal with and is constantly attempting to ignore or repress.
